Welcome to Edukos

My name is Jerome Feldt and I am one of the founders of a nonprofit organization that raises funds to send poverty stricken children to school in Rwanda. I have seen first hand the effects that the genocide of one million people in 1994 has had on all of the people that still live there today. I stood on ground that had over 250,000 people buried in a mass grave and listened closely to the widows as they asked us to please, please help our children. The events that lead up to the massacre were both preventable and unthinkable. We are on a mission to provide basic education to the victims of this poverty laden region of our world. We cannot change the past but its not to late to help save their future. Are you ready to save the world through education? Come join us as we continue to help others help themselves.

After several years of making donations to a great mission team that focus their efforts on making "Micro loans" to the widows in Rwanda, thereby helping them start up a small business. It came to my attention that the children and grandchildren of these women were in desperate need of education. I am sure that we all can agree that education or lack of, changes everything in a person's life.

I then began to raise funds any way I could to pay the school fees for these children. I would share my ambitions and vision with people everywhere I went.

After several years of providing the funds for children to attend school, I received an invitation to come over to Rwanda with the micro loan folks on their next mission trip so that I could witness first hand how things are done on that end. I can say without reservation that my life has not been the same since I went. I had no idea of what to expect but It was through that experience that I was able to see the true blessings that can come through giving. I stood in amazement in classroom after classroom filled with children that would not have received any education without our help.

One young lady that I was introduced to was on her way to "University". It was Later that evening as the team came together for our evening meal that I found out that we had paid her school fees ever since she became old enough to attend. It was explained that without our donations, she would have been destine for a life carrying bananas or water jugs on her head trying to provide income for her family to survive. It was at that point that I knew it was possible, that with help from others, more could be done to help these good people help themselves. I met with several small groups of widows that all had one common sentiment, "please help our children".

As the trip continued, I learned one very important thing about myself. I have kept successes and failures to myself for way too long. I needed to reach out to others for as much help as I could get in these matters. For once in my life, it was no longer about me and me alone, but how I could become part of a solution to a problem that will not get better with time. We are not reinventing the wheel or starting a unique approach to helping others. This is more along the lines of a being part of the village that will not leave a child out in the cold. I truly believe that we can "Save the world through education". I firmly believe that our creator, a higher power if you will, has brought me together with you at this time in our lives to make a difference in the world.

In 2019 a very long process of starting a 501c3 had begun. Within a year we received our approval from the government. I had gathered family and friends to form the required number of board members and opened a bank account that is able to handle our start up. We have put together a "Go fund me page" and now have put together a small web page with a "donate button" to allow others to give as they see fit. We have been blessed to have received donations from all sorts of folks.

Our plan this year is to get in front of as many people as possible and share our message to people that may have an interest in helping others but just don't know where to start. I have been asked to share this story to several groups of people including clubs and even our local church. We are not religious based in nature however we do maintain that there is a creator of all life and a force that comes with it.

Our donations are collected through various ways. There are unavoidable expenses associated with many of the service platforms such as PayPal and go fund me, but this is just the unavoidable costs associated with the business of helping others. We do our very best to keep the costs to a minimum. Some folks give through their Church or house of worship while others use platforms such as PayPal or go fund me. We have also been mailed checks from folks that see us at functions that we attend and by those who know what we are doing, and they wish to help us make a difference. Please feel free to get in contact with us if you have any questions. No contribution is too large or too small. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We have partnered with microseeds ministries and since 2010 we have sent 1540 children to school and raised $51,631 collectively. Thank you for your support.
